Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great summer.
Several members have been working on the John Deere A at the clubhouse on Monday evenings, and we have accomplished quite a bit. We have the picker attached and connected correctly, and this last Monday we installed the drive chains. We have actually started the tractor and engaged the clutch. The picker came alive with lots of screeching! We did lubricate the chains. They will need more after sitting for many years, but they function.
I want to remind everyone we will have our next meeting July 2 at Dos Chilis Restaurant in Bridgeport, Texas, at 7:00 PM. Please come early to have a meal with us and visit.
We plan to have a great program presented by Dennis Hamblin on The Resurrection of the Bathtub D.
I would also like to ask everyone to take care of themselves in this summer heat.
We don’t have a lot going on this time of year, but it’s fun to meet on Monday evenings at the clubhouse. We will be starting a couple more projects soon, working on the corn wagons, repairing the floor, enclosing the tops, and replacing the tires.
We had two of our scholarship winners attend our last meeting, and Stacy Cox-Higgins presented them to the members with an outstanding introduction and explanation of our Teresa L. Cox Memorial Scholarship Program.
Thanks for all your support.
