Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. Our John Deere A project is doing well. Thanks to Steve Roos coordinating efforts assisted by Eddie Griffeth, Ommero Ybarra, Gary Roloff, Dennis Hamblin . The JD A and Uni Tractor, with all the parts, were both moved from the Grady Griffeth’s shop to our club house. I was able to attend and assist the unloading of the JD A and parts. The club house is usually open Monday evenings 6-8 pm for anyone who wants to show up and help work on any of our various projects (JD A, Uni-tractor, Dynamometer. The dynamometer project has passed its first test and we will do test#2 soon. After it passes the 2nd test we will finish reassembling everything and it will be ready for use.
Our club was well represented at the Cook County tractor show even though it was WET and MUDDY. Thanks to all who came and brought tractors Kevin Stirewalt, Pat Vaught, Gary Roloff, Colton Petty, Dennis Hamblin. We set up at our normal spot and had opportunity to visit with numerous friends and new people. We also had several members attend the Springtown wild west festival on Sept 20th with 6 John Deeres and 1 Allis Chalmers tractors.
We will start setting up for our fall auction in about 3 weeks, with the auction on October 18th. I am looking forward to seeing everyone, I was reminded that a lot of people enjoy it as a social event as well as a work event. I hope everyone that can help do what they can. We still need people to sign up for security nights; we will be passing the signup sheet around at the next meeting on October 3rd.
The Temple Tractor show is October 4th, several members plan to attend. We will still have a tractor ride on Saturday Oct 12 to Greenwood from sycamore Baptist church although some of us will need to be working the auction on that day.
We have a lot going this time of the year. Please contact me or a board member if you want to help or do something.
I want to thank Stacy Higgins for all she does for our club, she made our auction posters and did a wonderful job.
